Few watch houses can claim the extensive history that Jaquet Droz can. Dating back to the 1700s when Pierre Jaquet Droz, the brands namesake, was universally known as a master of animated watches; Jaquet Droz watches enjoy a reputation for being not only exceptional timekeepers, but incredible works of art.
The Jaquet Droz Quantieme Perpetual is a watch that nicely displays the fusion of the mastery of complicated function and a keen sense for the aesthetic that the Droz brand is famous for.
Available with many different dials - some very exotic (like the meteorite dial shown here) and all in very limited editions, the Droz Quantieme Perpetual displays hours and minutes in the customary fashion and then the day and date in retrograde on opposite sides of the dial indicated with serpentine hands. Subdialed at 6 and 12 o'clock respectively are seconds and the months of the year. Also shown on the months subdial is a leap year indication - during a leap year an 'L' fills the window - otherwise the number 1, 2 or 3 to indicate how many years past a leap year the current year is. Inside the Quantieme Perpetual is the Jaquet Droz caliber 5863 automatic movement - it has 38 jewels and is equipped with a 22kt gold oscillator.
The Jaquet Droz Quantieme Perpetual is 43mm in diameter and equipped with a handmade alligator strap with buckle. The finishing is exceptional and the presentation is both refined and unique.
