Eberhard & Co, famous for the linear arrangement of totalizers in it's very successful Chrono 4 series watches, produces many other great timekeepers.
I got the chance to check out the Eberhard Extra-Fort Rattrapante Edition Limitee. It's a chronograph with split time capability (rattrapante) that's very eye-catching. The dial on the Extra-Fort Rattrapante is especially nice; it's silver, nicely guilloched, and features stark roman numerals that look great. The sapphire crystal protecting the dial is domed giving the whole dial presentation some extra depth. The case is a little over 41mm, now really mid-sized in the overall scheme of things, but really a great size for a watch that can easily do double duty between office and down time.
The see-through caseback shows off the Eberhard Caliber 8601 movement, an ETA/Valjoux 7750 that's been extensively reworked and tastefully decorated. It has a rhodium-plated rotor, and features cotes de Geneve.
The Extra-Forte Rattrapante comes on a top-notch crocodile strap with deployant buckle. Production is limited to 333 pieces. It's Eberhard Ref. 31049 and retail is $12,420 US.
